Koomurri Visit
May 2024
We were lucky to have Raph from Koomurri come to teach the children traditional Indigenous customs, including: dance, language, significance of orce facial paints, stories, song and artefacts.
Beginning with acknowledging the country Raph discussed the Dharug land we are on and the land he is from up north.
Explaining stories and customs of how different lands communicate through symbols.
The Children especially loved learning the emu and turtle dance and listening as Raph played songs through the Yidaki (Didgeridoo)
